What is coaching?
Coaching is a discipline that enables people to explore the core of a problem and overcome self-limiting beliefs, mental barriers, and challenges they are facing. The way we see and perceive the world is affected by various unconscious filters. Generating awareness of these perceptions can be eye-opening and a catalyst for change.
It is important to note that while traditional coaching is not classed as therapy, techniques like NLP and IEMT can be effective for addressing certain traumatic experiences, including Post Traumatic Stress. Coaching is particularly effective for individuals feeling stuck in life, at work, or in relationships, helping them move from where they are to where they want to be.

How does coaching work?
A coach will typically work with a client for several sessions to help them generate the change they wish to create in their life. A typical programme lasts six sessions, but different circumstances may require different durations.
A typical coaching session lasts between 60 and 90 minutes. Initially, the coach’s role is to see the client’s problem through their eyes. A coach will then use various tools and techniques to enable the client to reflect on their own perspective before exploring alternative points of view. A coach does not express opinions or provide advice but challenges the client’s thinking to break down self-limiting beliefs and find strategies to overcome their problems.

My Coaching Toolbox
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP): NLP helps you understand and change patterns of thinking and behaviour. It improves communication, enhances relationships, and boosts problem-solving skills by reframing negative thoughts and developing a positive mindset.
Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT): IEMT is an effective method for addressing trauma, anxiety, and stress. It helps in processing and releasing emotional blocks, leading to a more balanced and calm mental state.
Mindfulness: Mindfulness practices involve focusing on the present moment and developing a healthier relationship with oneself. Techniques such as meditation, breathing exercises, and body awareness help reduce stress, improve focus, and enhance emotional regulation.
Psychoeducation: A golden thread that runs through all my coaching techniques is psychoeducation. Learning about how our mind works and understanding our relationship with ourselves is crucial for creating effective and lasting change. By gaining insights into your thought patterns and behaviours, you can make informed decisions and develop healthier habits.
What if coaching is not for me?
Upon initial contact, I will arrange a free consultation to understand the challenges you are facing and to ensure that coaching is the appropriate solution for you. If during the initial consultation it transpires that different therapies are more appropriate to your circumstances, I will point it out and signpost you to the relevant options available outside my organisation. This is in accordance with the Coaching Code of Conduct and Wren Coaching & Wellbeing values.
